Description:

As a member of the Canadian Business Unit, the Field Quality Control Technician, Fracturing Services will report directly to the Supervisor, Fracturing Services. This position is available at our Grande Prairie and Red Deer locations. The Field Quality Control Technician is accountable for ensuring quality as it relates to chemical products within the Pressure Pumping department. This position is accountable for any and all products pumped for Sanjel customers. In this capacity, the Field Quality Control Technician t is accountable for keeping their work area clean, complying with all relevant company policy and regulations related to HS&E (Health, Safety and Environment), and ensuring all paperwork is current.

General Responsibilities:

• Complete and submit all required paperwork (i.e. QC records, expense account, bonus and fuel sheets, logbooks, pre/post trip inspections, loading tickets)
• Follow Sanjel Journey Management policy prior to leaving on any trip
• Abide by policies set forth in Sanjel's HS&E Handbook, and remain alert and aware of their own safety and the safety of others
• Conduct quality control testing on chemicals going into stock and ensure they meet the manufacturers' specifications
• Attend all pre-treatment meetings and provide on-site support as required by the Field Supervisor
• Provide field job support by performing pre-treatment quality control testing on all fluids and additives to be used, and perform sand sieve analysis prior to the treatment
• Obtain samples during pumping, record all test results, and communicate with the Field Supervisor continuously throughout the field job
• Maintain the QC lab on and off location, including cleanliness, equipment stock, and instrument calibration
• Train and mentor new employees to ensure their success within the Sanjel team
• Continuously identify areas for improvement, communicate these ideas, and always strive for Pride by Safe Performance
• Assist with miscellaneous field duties as required

Qualifications:

• Two year technician or technologist diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Willingness to work non-structured hours without direct supervision
• Certificates in First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, TDG are considered an asset
