Steve Glanville, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Glanville has served as STEP’s president and CEO since October 2022. A co-founder of STEP, he previously held the role of COO from the company’s inception in March 2011 before being appointed president in July 2021. Mr. Glanville is a certified engineering technologist with 30 years of oilfield experience and a strong background in operations and management. His career includes 10 years with SLB, formerly Schlumberger, in its North American oilfield services divisions, seven years with Sanjel Energy Services managing the Canadian coiled tubing and nitrogen business unit, and two years with Calfrac Well Services Ltd. as manager of their Canadian coiled tubing division. Mr. Glanville has contributed significantly to industry organizations. He is a former board member of the Enserva Association (formerly the Petroleum Services Association of Canada) and a past director of Enserva’s Stars and Spurs Gala supporting STARS Air Ambulance. Additionally, he served as president of the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association, Canadian Chapter (ICoTA). Mr. Glanville earned his diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Mr. Glanville is a holder of the Institute of Corporate Directors Director designation.
Murray Bickley, President

Mr. Bickley is President of the combined organization of STEP Energy Services and Sanjel Energy Services. He brings more than 31 years of experience in the energy services industry across Canadian and international markets. Throughout his career, Mr. Bickley has held several senior leadership roles spanning operations, sales, and strategic marketing, including senior positions with one of the world’s largest energy services firms.
Mr. Bickley joined Sanjel Energy Services in2015 and was appointed President in 2017. During his tenure, he has led several strategic initiatives, including the development and growth of Sanjel Energy’s remediation service line. In 2020, Mr. Bickley was also appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sanjel Energy Services, overseeing the company’s overall growth strategy.
Klaas Deemter, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Deemter has served as STEP’s CFO since November 4, 2021, prior to which he held the title senior vice president, finance from October 12 to November 3, 2021. Prior to joining STEP, Mr. Deemter spent 12 years with Trican Well Service and held progressively senior roles, including senior finance director, corporate controller, and as interim CFO in Q1 and Q2 of 2021. Previously, Mr. Deemter worked with two of Canada’s chartered banks in various account management and risk management roles from 2001 to 2009. Mr. Deemter has a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.
Rory Thompson, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Thompson has served as STEP's COO since October 2022. Previously, he held roles of increasing responsibility in the Canadian operations region including operations manager, director of operations, vice president, coiled tubing services and most recently, president, Canadian operations. Mr. Thompson has over 25 years of North American oilfield experience. Prior to joining STEP, Mr. Thompson worked for Technicoil Corporation from 2001 to 2011, where he held various operations roles, including senior field superintendent. Before entering the coiled tubing industry, Mr. Thompson was in the drilling sector with Layne Christensen Company and started out his oilfield career as a drilling roughneck.
Christine Crawford, Vice President, People and Communications

Ms. Crawford has served as Vice President, People and Communications since April 2026, and is responsible for the organization’s people strategy, including human resources, as well as its marketing and communications programs. She previously served as Vice President, Sustainability and Communications beginning in August 2023. She joined STEP in2012 as manager, marketing and communications and advanced to the position of director, marketing and communications in 2018. Ms. Crawford has almost 20years of marketing and communications experience, the majority of which has been spent in the energy services sector. Ms. Crawford holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability from the University of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto.
Sam Okasha, Vice President, Integration

Mr. Okasha has served as STEP’s Vice President, Integration since April 2026. Prior to this role, he held the position of Vice President, Shared Services at Sanjel Energy Services. Throughout his career, Mr. Okasha has held senior leadership roles across People & Culture, Human Resources, Information Technology, Digital Enablement, and Sustainability, bringing a broad, enterprise‑wide perspective to organizational transformation and integration.
Mr. Okasha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from the same institution. He has also completed executive education at the MIT Sloan School of Management and holds the ICD‑Rotman Governance Essentials Program certificate.

Todd Rainville, Vice President, Sales and Engineering Technology

Mr. Rainville has served as the vice president, sales and engineering technology, Canada since May 2021. He joined STEP in July 2015 as vice president, sales and marketing and in 2018 held the role of vice president, sales and engineering, Canada. Mr. Rainville has over 30 years of experience in both the oilfield exploration and production, and service sector, starting first in drilling and completions before moving to service and eventually into sales and marketing. Mr. Rainville is a certified engineering technologist, having spent 13 years working at Calfrac Well Services Ltd. in technical services, as account manager and as sales manager. Mr. Rainville received his Diploma, Petroleum Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Josha Kane, Vice President, Legal and General Counsel

Mr. Kane has served as vice president, legal and general counsel since January 2021. Most recently, Mr. Kane was STEP’s general counsel, a role he has held since joining the company in 2016. Mr. Kane has practiced law for over 15 years; most of his career has been spent providing strategic legal counsel and overseeing the corporate governance for large international companies in the oilfield services sector. Prior to joining STEP, Mr. Kane held positions at Sanjel Corporation, TransCanada Pipelines Limited (now TC Energy), and Macleod Dixon LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright). Mr. Kane holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canada.
Brad McFarlane, Vice President, Finance

Mr. McFarlane has served as vice president, finance, since January 2023. He is a chartered accountant with over 20 years of financial and leadership experience, focusing on oil and gas services for the last 15 years. Mr. McFarlane has held progressively senior roles since joining STEP in 2014, serving as controller in both Canada and the U.S., director, finance, U.S. from 2019 to 2021, and most recently as vice president, finance, U.S. from 2021 to 2022. Mr. McFarlane graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.
